Fun for Fall

Welcome, Fall!

Fall in Cache Valley means a lot of things. Usually the first thing that comes to mind is the gorgeous colors of the leaves on the trees in the mountains. The weather also gets cold, we usually get a fair amount of rain, and of course it is also harvest time!

Here at the Book Table we have a couple of really fun tables that are filled with product designed to give your home that fall-feeling. We have cute story books, home decor, and recipe books.

This table is located by the register in our General Books department. It is dedicated to adorable home decor, and features cute little wooden signs, metal pumpkins, and things to use in fall-themed baking such as pumpkin cupcake-liners.

This table is also located in our General Books department. It is dedicated to the harvest side of fall, with a focus on apples. On this display we have cute books about apple-picking as well as blocks of Peter’s Caramel for apple-dipping, and a few recipe books.

Here are some of our favorite children’s books about fall!

Apples and Pumpkins by Anne Rockwell

It is Fall And for one little girl, that means the special joys of visiting the Comstock Farm: choosing the reddest apples from the trees and finding the best pumpkin in the patch.Back home, she helps her mother carve a funny jack-o’-lantern face and puts a glowing candle inside her prize new pumpkin…just in time for Halloween and an evening of lots of “trick or treats”

Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert

Fall has come, the wind is gusting, and Leaf Man is on the move. Is he drifting east, over the marsh and ducks and geese? Or is he heading west, above the orchards, prairie meadows, and spotted cows? No one’s quite sure, but this much is certain: A Leaf Man’s got to go where the wind blows.

With illustrations made from actual fall leaves and die-cut pages on every spread that reveal gorgeous landscape vistas, here is a playful, whimsical, and evocative book that celebrates the natural world and the rich imaginative life of children.

Amelia Bedelia’s First Apple Pie by Herman Parish
