by Eve Bunting

“I wish we had a real turkey,” Mrs. Moose tells her husband. “Everyone always has a turkey for Thanksgiving.”

So Mr. Moose sets out to find her one. But when he and their friends spot Turkey and call to him, Turkey runs away. Why would he do that? The answer is revealed in a funny surprise ending to Eve Bunting’s lighthearted story.

by Ann McGovern

The Pilgrim’s first Thanksgiving lasted three whole days. Ann McGovern’s simple text introduces children to the struggles of the Pilgrims during their first year at Plymouth Colony and the events leading to the historic occasion we celebrate today – THANKSGIVING.

by Julie Andrews & Emma Walton Hamilton

Gerry is ready to be KIND and give THANKS all day long. She is excited to give her best compliments to friends and family, has the perfect contribution for the food drive, and has created a beautiful painting for her school’s charity art show.

But disaster strikes again and again, making it tough to stay grateful! Thankfully, with a little help from her friends, family, and teacher, Gerry proves that a fairy princess can always find just the right attitude of gratitude.

From the mother-daughter team of Julie Andrews and Emma Walton Hamilton comes another uplifting story in the #1 New York Times bestselling Very Fairy Princess series.

Here are some product that we have in the store to get you ready for this season of thanksgiving and this autumn weather.

The Oak Inside The Acorn by Max Lucado

It was hard for Little Acorn to believe he would ever be a big, strong oak tree.

Soon Little Acorn grew into Little Oak. But now what was he to do? He couldn’t grow oranges like the orange tree or flowers like the rose bush. He just grew and grew until he became Big Oak, and his branches were big and strong-but still he didn’t know what he was to do. Then one day Big Oak found that his strong branches were just right for a very special purpose. The Oak Inside the Acorn is the story of the miracle inside each of us. For within every child is the special person God created, just waiting to grow.

Promised Land Game

This is a fast passed themed action game of the Book of Mormon. Players use items like, the Brass Plates, tree of Life or the Liahona to avoid consequences that come from false Traditions and Lamanite armies.

Autumn Sprinkles

I love these sprinkles mixes! Growing up my mom had a different container of these sprinkles for each holiday, and they were always gone by the end of the season. They’re great because there’s a great variety of colored sugars, shapes, and classic “jimmies”. These are a great asset for any Autumn baker!

Pumpkin Pie Cheeseball and Dessert Mix

These mixes make the best holiday cheeseballs! Whip it up really fast and serve it with graham crackers, and you will be a hit. This yummy mix can also be used to make a super-quick and yummy pumpkin-flavored cheesecake!

Cookies, Cupcake-, and Cake-Decorating

We have some super cute cupcake, cookie, and cake decorating kits that are designed to help you make fun and darling Thanksgiving turkey cupcakes, cookies, or cakes! This is a great project that is great to keep kids occupied and “helping” with Thanksgiving preparations.

We also have some really cute baking cups that come in leaf-print, pumpkin-print, and solid fall colors.

Last but not least we have absolutely adorable Autumn cookie cutters! Our sets come with one leaf and one pumpkin, and they are even fall colors.

Thanksgiving Books!

Sometimes we have a tendency to jump straight from Halloween to Christmas during this busy holiday season. But don’t worry, Thanksgiving, we didn’t forget you. Even though we’ve got our Christmas product out, don’t miss out on our super fun Thanksgiving books!

10 Fat Turkeys by Tony Johnston

996483This silly rhyming story about ten turkeys teaches children how to count backwards.

“Looky!” says a silly turkey swinging from a vine.
Gobble gobble wibble wobble.
Whoops! Now there are nine.

Girls and boys will gobble up this hilarious story about ten goofy turkeys and their silly antics: swinging from a vine, strutting on a boar, doing a noodle dance, and more. Veteran author Tony Johnston has written a joyful text, which first-time illustrator Richard Deas brings to life as wild and wacky fun!

Thanksgiving at the Tappletons’ by Eileen Spinelli

You’re invited to Thanksgiving dinner with the Tappletons, the nicest family of wolves you’ll ever meet!

Mrs. Tappleton gets up early to prepare the turkey. Mr. Tappleton sets off to buy the pies. Kenny makes the salad, and Jenny mashes the potatoes. Then all the relatives arrive for an enormous Thanksgiving dinner. But this year nothing seems to go right. First the turkey slides down the icy hill and into the pond — “plop splash ” Then the bakery sells out of pies. It looks like it’s going to be a pretty bleak holiday…until Grandmother reminds everyone that there’s more to Thanksgiving than a turkey and trimmings.

Over the River: A Turkey’s Tale by Derek Anderson

2009470Over the river Mama, Papa, and Baby Turkey embark for their vegetarian Thanksgiving Feast. But when a hungry boy and his dog start sniffing around, the turkeys have got to think fast before they become the main course! Acclaimed artist Derek Anderson’s glorious autumn artwork adds heaps of holiday humor to Lydia Maria Child’s classic Thanksgiving song. And readers of all ages will be wondering who gobbles up whom until the dessert finale.
